You can purchase the authors books which will be signed on the day of the visit.

You can purchase books from any author even if your child's grade did not hear from that author.

 

 

Deborah Abela - Prep/Year 5

Debora Abela

 

Deborah trained as a teacher before becoming writer/producer of a national children’s TV show at Network TEN.

She then went to Africa where she was harassed by monkeys, got caught in a desert sandstorm and thrown in jail twice

Since then, she has become an internationally published and awarded author of 28 books.

Lisa Shanahan - Prep/Kindy

Lisa Shanahan

Lisa Shanahan is a writer of picture books and fiction for young people. She loves moon-gazing, making up words, mock orange blossom, black cockatoos, peppermint tea and shouts of unexpected laughter. 

Her picture book, Hark, It’s Me, Ruby Lee! (ill. Binny Talib) was a 2018 CBCA Honour Book of the Year for Early Childhood, and was also shortlisted in the 2018 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards for Children’s Fiction. Her most recent picture book, the delightful Hello World (ill. Leila Rudge) won the 2022 Speech Pathology Book of the Year for Birth-3-year-olds.
 

Lesley Gibbes - Year 1

Lesley Gibbes

Lesley Gibbs is an award winning, internationally published children's author, teacher and presenter. She is a sought-after, dynamic presenter who has received acknowledgment from The Children’s Book Council of Australia, The Royal Zoological Society of NSW, The Wilderness Society and Speech Pathology Australia.

She is the author of more than fourteen books for children. Her books include Scary Night, Little Bear’s First Sleep, Searching for Cicadas, Fluke, and Dinosaur Dads.

Penny Reeve is the author of more than 25 books for children, including  picture books, novels and non-fiction. She has a masters degree in writing and literature and is a PhD candidate researching spiritual questioning in young adult fiction. Penny loves sharing her stories with children and encouraging them to respond to the complex, fascinating and sometimes difficult world we live in.

Reece Carter - Year 4

Reece Carter

Reece Carter is someone who fell in love with writing stories when he was a young reader himself. He wants to help the next generation of storytellers reach into the quirkiest corners of their imaginations too, so they might dream up characters and larger-than-life stories of their own. Reece is also a nutritionist who wrote two nutrition books, contributed to several print publications, and even appeared on TV and radio. Reece’s first novel ‘A Girl Called Corpse’ was awarded QBD Books, Children’s Book of the Year in 2002, and Dymocks Children’s Book of the Month, in October 2022.
