PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The College Volleyball Program is dedicated to building a robust structure that supports students in developing technical skills, teamwork, and strategic understanding. Designed to balance inclusivity with excellence, the program provides opportunities for players at all levels to grow and thrive.

Training focuses on refining foundational techniques, enhancing game awareness, and fostering collaboration on and off the court. The program promotes holistic growth, shaping athletes who excel in both character and performance.

The Volleyball Program provides structured pathways that guide students from foundational skill development to competitive representation. By fostering growth and excellence, the program empowers students to achieve their full potential and establishes the College as a center of volleyball achievement.

HEAD OF PROGRAM 

Helen Huynh

Helen Huynh brings a deep passion for volleyball and years of experience to help players grow both on and off the court. As the co-founder and coach of Sparrows Volleyball, Helen is dedicated to fostering a love for the sport while developing technical skills and personal resilience. She holds qualifications as a Volleyball Australia Level 2 Coach and Referee, which have enabled her to guide teams to outstanding achievements, including the Senior Boys’ Gold Medal at the 2024 Volleyball NSW State Cup and the CSSA Secondary State Volleyball Championship. Helen’s goal is to inspire players to reach their full potential and create meaningful connections through this dynamic and inclusive sport of volleyball.

Program Structure 

Senior School

Grading and grouping

Students will be grouped based on skill level, allowing for targeted coaching peer collaboration. Training focuses include:

  • Core techniques: serving, setting, spiking and blocking
  • Strategic understanding of rotations, positioning, and team dynamics
  • Fitness and agility drills to enhance speed, reflexes, and endurance
