PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The College Football Program nurtures talent across all year levels, providing clear pathways for development and representation. Focused on skill acquisition, personal growth, and elite performance, the program equips students with technical, tactical and strategic abilities while fostering resilience, discipline, and teamwork.
With expert coaching, competitive opportunities, and holistic support, students transition seamlessly from development squads to representative teams. By fostering sportsmanship and determination, the program aims to inspire well-rounded athletes to reach their full potential, positioning the College as a strong contributor to football development.
HEAD OF PROGRAM
Sonny Makko
Sonny Makko brings 30 years of football coaching experience, holding top coaching accreditations from the AFC, FFA, Spanish Football Federation, and the English Football Association. He has coached at all levels, including leading the NSWCIS 16s boys’ team from 2018 to 2020 and serving as a selector since 2021. Recognised as Coach of the Year in the University Games (2013-2014), Sonny has also worked with Macquarie University and ACU. His passion for football and coaching grassroot programs creates opportunities for students to excel on and off the field and grow into elite pathways.

Program Structure
Junior School
Afternoon Development Program
All junior school students are invited to participate in skill-focused afternoon sessions, encouraging early engagement with football
Junior Elevation Program
Junior Elevation participants will benefit from resources typically introduced at the senior school level, ensuring a seamless transition to higher levels, including:
- Nutrition education sessions
- Video analysis for skill breakdown and performance review
- Recovery and rehabilitation sessions
- Strength and conditioning training
Selection Process
- Students in Years 5 and 6 undergo a trial process to qualify for this exclusive program
- Trials are structured to assess technical ability, game understanding, effort and coachability
- Squads for this program are made up of 16 Boys (Years 5-6) and 16 Girls (Years 5 and 6)

Senior School
Grading and grouping
Students will be graded based on skill level, commitment, and potential. Training groups will be tailored to specific needs, ensuring individualised coaching and peer development opportunities.
